Today was the first day of our trip to Speyside. We flew into Glasgow, rented a car and drove to the Elgin area. It’s a long (but very pretty) drive, so we decided to stop a couple of times on the way. We decided on Aberfeldy as our main whisky stop off and booked on for the Connoisseur Tour. I drove, so collected my drivers drams and took them with me to our rental place.
Aroma: A big punchy wave of nostalgic sweet tropical fruit notes, like tinned fruit, combined with golden syrup turned up to 11.
Taste: Floral honey sweetness, that quickly gives way to a heathery spice that is both gingery and tropical. The finish is creamy and coppery.
Real Dram Factor: It’s an ice cream sundae at the beach whisky – 6.5
You will like this if: You count fruit and yoghurt as a legitimate pudding.
ABV: 43%
