The whisky regions of Scotland are complex and no one really seems to agree on how many there are, where they are and how they impact flavour, but one fairly solid idea is that if its from an island, its going to be good. So it was with a lot of expectation that I tasted the latest Summerton bottling.

Aroma: Super medicinal on the nose, somewhere between bandages, deep heat and slightly over cooked bacon rind. It is meaty, smoky and has a sherried funk.

Taste: The start of this dram is like maple syrup liberally poured over buttery, sweet pancakes.

The middle is spicy, yet sweet charcoal note, that is like a pork chop sizzling over a hot barbecue

The final note is warming and peppery, with a fruity black pepper note.

Real Dram Factor:

You will like this if: You count barbequeing in the winter as a hobby.
