One of the advantages of having a very poor memory for useful things, is that you become an excellent secret keeper. You get told these tiny morsels of important news, but then you hear a fact about lightning and completely forget what the secret was in the first place… Eight million lightning strikes a day in case you were wondering. and no; I don’t remember what we were talking about either.

Aroma: Spearmint toothpaste, charcoal fires and crisp smoky bacon.

Taste: The start is sweet cured meat, like a prosciutto or maple cure bacon. Earthy, sweet but savoury.

The middle is a gentle warming sweet spice – like a honey glazed ham starred with cloves.

The finish is huge wafts of glorious, sweet wood smoke, like being chased by an errant bonfire that follows you wherever you choose to sit, bathing you in warmth and smoke.

Real Dram Factor: I am a sucker for Islay smoke, so its already an 8, but because its softer, sweet and full of charcuterie – 8.6

You will like this if: you fancy living in the woods and whittling things from sticks.
